Perhaps it is because I have been coming to the Coquina Condo on Crescent Beach for 15 years now, but I’ve noticed that when life gets hard, I start to yearn for the quiet peace of Crescent Beach.  In fact, I often hear John Masefields’ cry in my ears, “I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely seas and the sky…” I love that on Crescent Beach, you really can find a lonely beach atmosphere to be in!

For part of my childhood I grew up in California, I remember stepping over the people that littered the beach.  When we first started going to Crescent Beach I was shocked and amazed that you could actually be on the beach without hundreds of other scantily clad tanners and loud partiers.  We usually come to Crescent Beach in the fall, winter, or spring months, and it is not unusual at all to find myself on the beach all by myself.  I find that the trustworthy tune of the tide and the sound of eager gulls in search of morning’s breakfast is God’s music for man and that the salty scent of cool ocean air can clear out worried minds.  I find the best therapy in the world is between God and I on a sofa of sand on Crescent Beach!
